Status: Donor

Collector, artist and NFT marketplace marketer (asterism.eth). Gave Friendship Bracelets #5361 by Alexis André to the AB5D Collection in 2026.

## About Asterism

Asterism is the collecting identity of Adam Ilenich, who posts on X as @adamilenich under the name asterism.eth. Ragan's speaker biography identifies him as head of social marketing at OpenSea, where he oversees social media marketing, partnership activations and Discord, following roles at Rarible and at Twitter, where he ran the @TwitterMktg account. [8] [1]

## Community and digital art

In an October 2022 CryptoNews interview, as Rarible's head of community, he discussed community marketplaces, creator royalties and the value of meaningful interaction over follower counts. Earlier that year he wrote a guide for marketers to the language of web3 in Adweek. [2] [7]

## Artist

He also makes work under the name asterism_eth. PATTERN RETRIEVAL, released in June 2026, is an edition of 478 works in which every printable ASCII character is stored once in a Hopfield network, deliberately ruined by random flipped cells until it dissolves into static, and then recalled, paired with generative music. Each token is a self-contained HTML file stored entirely on Ethereum. [11]

His recent public activity includes CXRDS, a project that reimagines XCOPY's art as tradable playing cards, which he discussed with Arthr and Nuclear Samurai on the bonafides podcast in July 2026. In December 2025 he was among the annotators of Ana María Caballero's poem Training Data, part of In Record Time, a series of hand-annotated poems commissioned by OpenSea with Art Basel for the launch of Zero 10 in Miami. [3] [4]

## Collecting

He is a member of The Doomed DAO, the collector community formed around the work of XCOPY. The ENS name asterism.eth resolves to 0xa9af…8e38. When AB5D read the Art Blocks index on 30 September 2026, that wallet held 13 Art Blocks tokens, among them a Chromie Squiggle, two send/receive by Snowfro, Drawings for a Monument by Jeff Davis and Diggly Collects All by DCA, with ICXN by XCOPY and three Ofrenda by Stefano Contiero. The wallet he asked AB5D to credit for this gift, 0x0ff0…b9f0, carries the primary name metaversecowboy.eth and held eleven further Ofrenda. These are index readings on that date, not a complete account of his collection. [12] [9] [10]

## A gift to AB5D

On 30 September 2026, AB5D recorded the acceptance of Friendship Bracelets #5361 by Alexis André as a gift of Asterism, the first donated work in the collection. The work is accession AB5D.2026.002.01. Its agreed credit, transfer evidence and custody record are published together in the accession entry. [5]

Friendship Bracelets was conceived by Erick Calderon and designed and programmed by Alexis André, and each token carries instructions for making a physical bracelet from embroidery floss. That invitation to make and share gives this gift a particular connection to the project's theme of friendship. The artwork remains credited to André; Asterism is acknowledged for giving this token to the collection. [6]
