# Archetype preliminary source research

This is now the next queue entry after production verification of R3sonance.

Primary artist interview read via search result: https://www.artblocks.io/articles/in-conversation-with-kjetil-golid-on-archetype . Displayed publication 4 February 2021, credited Jeff Davis. Artist describes rectangle-partition algorithm, extensive iteration, repetition counterbalancing chaos, inspiration from colourful isometric illustration and personal palette collection. Also describes shift from random inputs toward simple deterministic rules. Keep source-derived prose under 200 words. Do not infer this deployed script's mechanics or licence from broad statement that much of his code is open.

Todd Goldberg identifies Archetype as an early attraction and #243 as his first printed/framed generative work; explicitly collector testimony, not a neutral importance ranking. Tyler Hobbs interview https://www.artblocks.io/articles/in-conversation-with-tyler-hobbs-on-fidenza (4 June 2021) also mentions discovering Art Blocks through Golid's Archetype release. Both can support carefully attributed reception if relevant, each under 200 derived words.

The 13,911-character script and four token records were retrieved to the ignored research cache after R3sonance drafting. The full script has now been read, and all four official previews inspected. Packaging and publication checks remain outstanding.


## Completed inspection

Full 13,911-character indexed script read without executing it for analysis. Seed prefix and xorshift; weighted scene/layout/colour choices; Apparatus local subdivision; one interior pattern copied across each section; neighbouring-face boundary inheritance; eight discrete heights; polygon projection and alpha shading; overlap graph and topological ordering; frame masking; setup-only static rendering. No draw or interaction handler defined. Upstream Marcel Klehr toposort source and MIT licence read; close correspondence with different error/validation handling, exact incorporated revision unresolved. p5.js 1.0.0 LGPL2.1 and CC BY-NC 4.0 deed separately identified.

Full previews #0, #1, #10 and #20 inspected in browser at 512px on 17 September. #0 cream/red flat field with short repeated blocks and broad plates; #1 yellow border, multicoloured diagonal repeated assemblies and dark side faces; #10 blue-green border, ochre bars, green/cream plates and forceful black channels; #20 cream/red corner with pale stepped projections across the join.

Official renderer inspected: cream/red flat composition, broad central red plates, pale stepped bands above and small cream groups near lower edge. Static preview appropriate. Cached held.json retains observation.

The seven-section package is complete: 2,030 body words, 12 materially cited sources and four inspected outputs. Structural package and full-site checks pass. Desktop layout and 390px mobile view checked; artwork loaded, no horizontal overflow, 12 references and 12 return links. Publication verification remains a separate step.
