The distinction is not simply the number of marks. It concerns how strongly each mark competes with its containing region, and whether neighbouring regions remain separate or appear to merge. The title names an operation that is also visible in the pictures: space is divided, then divided again. Yet the program's subdivisions do not remain equally legible everywhere. Adjacent areas with the same colour can conceal a boundary, while a contrasting motif can make a small region feel disproportionately important.       "heading": "How the work was constructed",
      "bodyMarkdown": "The script reads thirty-two hexadecimal pairs from the token hash. One array reduces each byte modulo one hundred, and these values help choose structural settings. A separate initial hash slice seeds a bitwise pseudorandom sequence used throughout the drawing. Modulo reduction means the resulting values should not casually be treated as uniformly distributed percentages. A threshold in the code is not automatically an audited edition frequency. [^S02]\n\nThe work is drawn into a 2,520-by-3,528 offscreen surface, then displayed at a corresponding portrait ratio fitted to the viewport. This fixed internal field supplies a common coordinate system even when the visible canvas changes size. The program also uses the device's display density. Retaining both the drawing procedure and its environment therefore matters when comparing future renderings, even though the artwork is static. [^S02]\n\nStructural branches choose the initial grid, possible rotations, margin, subdivision ratios and recursion depths. One branch starts from a single large region. Another uses a denser grid and potentially deeper subdivision. A further branch allows quarter-turn rotations. The ordinary branch uses a small range of grid sizes. These choices establish different scales of organisation before the recursive drawing begins. [^S02]\n\nThe central divider function receives a rectangular region and a depth. When depth remains, it selects a split ratio and chooses whether to divide across width or height. It then calls itself twice for the two resulting regions, reducing the depth each time. Available ratios include halves and, in some branches, quarters or fifths. Recursion thus constructs a hierarchy of related rectangles, not a scattering of independently placed shapes. [^S02]\n\nAt the terminal depth, the function can fill a rectangle, decorate it or leave part of the previous ground exposed. The region's proportions affect which treatments are available. Taller spaces can receive central squares, circles or stripe-like treatments. Other regions can receive triangles or diagonal divisions. Because the containing rectangle governs the motif's scale, a repeated kind of shape can appear as a tiny accent in one place and a dominant form in another. [^S02]\n\nColour is selected from explicit lists. Several lists pair near-black and cream with more saturated colours, while one branch starts with the two neutrals and may add a further colour. Selections occur at different stages of the drawing. A background and an overlaid motif can consequently coincide in colour, making an operation less visible than the source code suggests. Counting only visible shapes would not reliably reconstruct the number of recursive leaves. [^S02]\n\nThe inspected implementation also contains details that should not be normalised into a cleaner imagined algorithm. One alternate stripe loop divides a height by its loop index, which begins at zero. Another structural condition compares an integer-like reduced byte with a threshold of 0.5. These operations are part of the retrieved code, not evidence that every intended stripe or split behaves conventionally. This essay does not silently repair them or claim a complete numerical audit of every branch. [^S02]\n\nAll substantive drawing takes place in setup, after which the offscreen image is copied to the display. There is no artist-defined animation routine or interaction handler. The original generators were opened for five tokens and showed finished static compositions. The runtime is p5.js 1.0.0; the code has been inspected in full, but not independently retrieved from a pinned chain block. [^S01] [^S02]"

      "bodyMarkdown": "The platform gives 2 July 2021 as the release date. The index records an earlier first mint on 1 July, followed by activation on 2 July. The second mint and scheduled-start field both read 20:59:43 on 2 July, with completion at 21:04:13. The four-minute-thirty-second interval between those last events is an index calculation, not a classification of every purchase. [^S01]\n\nConnolly recalls the edition being collected in under five minutes and reports a five-percent fee contribution to the Processing Foundation. His article prints June where the platform chronology indicates July. The discrepancy is retained rather than silently corrected. The payment claim remains attributed to the artist; no transfer audit was performed here. [^S03] [^S01]\n\nThe current index reports 500 invocations and a maximum of 500. Its price setting is 0.13 ETH. That setting does not by itself verify the original opening price or show whether every recipient paid it. Artist, reserved and ordinary public mints have not been separated. Small circles and squares punctuate broader areas, while triangles introduce repeated points and notches. Several dark regions join into angular routes through the image. The eye can follow one of those routes before a colour change or a new subdivision interrupts it. The effect is patterned without becoming a uniform repeat. [^S05]\n\nThe work rewards alternating between scales. At a distance, its warm palette and irregular dark masses establish the overall balance. Closer inspection reveals tiny accents embedded in narrow bands, and paired triangles that seem to form diamonds across adjacent regions. Some of those apparent larger motifs depend on the viewer grouping neighbouring marks. They need not correspond to a single object in the code. [^S05] [^S02]\n\nIn #1, the same portrait format becomes spare. A green circle sits in a dark vertical region near the upper left; a green triangle occupies blue at the upper right. Below it, blue triangles meet across a cream-to-black boundary to suggest an elongated diamond. A broad orange block anchors the lower left. The few motifs have much more space around them than those in #0. [^S06]\n\nThe diamond-like figure is especially useful for understanding the system. Its apparent unity crosses a strong background division. The eye joins two blue parts into one form, while the changing ground insists on the underlying partition. This is a small but consequential tension between the hierarchy that produced the image and the larger shape a viewer can perceive within it. [^S06]\n\nIn #10, a green border and ground surround a busier arrangement of vertical bands. Yellow, blue, orange, cream and black alternate in widths ranging from broad blocks to very thin strips. Rows of tiny circles and squares cut across those verticals, introducing a horizontal rhythm without using a continuous line. A central orange triangle points upward toward a larger orange region. The composition feels assembled from several registers of density. [^S07]\n\nIn #20, a teal field supports large pink and dark shapes. The upper portion is dominated by a broad black mass with two small coloured squares, while a cream band projects toward the right. Lower down, a pink vertical strip and long opposing wedges create a more open arrangement. The emptiness between these elements matters as much as the motifs: it lets the eye read the work as a few deliberate moves rather than a dense texture. [^S08]"

Triangles puncture broad colour fields, and a small dark square provides an isolated accent below. Its original generator was viewed and its owner freshly checked against a known AB5D wallet. This confirms the example's identity, rather than a new census of every linked institutional wallet.
