The thousand-edition Art Blocks Factory project was released on August 23, 2021.       "bodyMarkdown": "Pedersen's project account places Rapture's beginnings in Genesis, developed in 2019, followed by further explorations in Phases, Storms and Prism. An early Rapture render closely recalled Genesis, but he moved away from making the new series simply a tribute to the older one. He connects its religious atmosphere to church glass mosaics and gives its six principal colours a fictional association with crystals.       "heading": "Keeping the history of a boundary",
      "bodyMarkdown": "The complete artist program retrieved from the official index contains 12,585 UTF-8 bytes. It was read in full, its digest retained, and its identity checked against project 141 and the exact Ethereum contract. The runtime is recorded as p5@1.0.0. The source is compact and minified; the present explanation follows its operations rather than treating its short variable names as meaningful descriptions.[^S01]\n\nFour eight-character chunks from the first half of the token hash initialize a four-word random state. A shift-and-XOR update produces the values used for parameter choices. A weighted selection function can choose without replacement, which matters for colour order and combinations. The script derives noise seeds and selects the drawing mode, scale, shape family, rotation and other settings from that stream.[^S01]\n\nThe starting geometry includes square and circular families: single shapes with holes, nested shapes, separated segments, groups and paired arrangements. Some outputs combine circular and square structures side by side. The canvas can be square or use a landscape or portrait ratio close to the square root of two. Browser dimensions and device pixel ratio determine the rendering resolution while the geometry is transformed from a common internal coordinate system.[^S01]\n\nThe polygon class stores an ordered boundary as points. It can rotate, scale, copy, add intermediate points and remove points that are too close together. A recursive cubic B-spline evaluator also makes smooth sampling along the boundary available to several drawing modes. The visual process thus begins with explicit contours, rather than a photograph, imported texture or collection of unrelated brush marks.[^S01]\n\nTwo seeded fields drive displacement. One branch uses p5 noise with four octaves; another computes distances to pseudorandom feature points across neighbouring cells and combines three scales. The displacement function estimates derivatives by sampling nearby positions, arranging the results into a curling vector. Repeatedly adding that vector to each boundary point stretches and folds the contour.[^S01]\n\nThe process preserves copies of successive deformations. It computes ten stored stages per scheduled batch, with four point updates within each stage. Depending on the selected parameters, it accumulates hundreds of stages before drawing the final result. In a branch that needs additional detail, it inserts points when neighbouring vertices separate, subject to a point-count condition. The outer background boundary is treated differently and does not receive that same adaptive subdivision.[^S01]\n\nThe final image is drawn from the stored history, working backward through deformation stages. That order lets earlier, more recognizable geometry sit over the more dispersed traces. Rendering choices include filled areas between contours, circles at vertices, spaced spline outlines, short crosswise marks, sampled circles and tiles spanning multiple stages. The tile mode is constrained to the alternative field branch. These choices change the apparent material of the same underlying movement: ribbon, interference, dust or facets.[^S01]\n\nColour is also calculated over the deformation history. The program defines six chromatic families plus pale and dark endpoints, rearranges them according to seeded choices and interpolates through conversion matrices using cube roots and cubes. Opacity changes with position through the sequence. Colour is therefore attached to a stage and a rendering operation, not merely assigned once to a finished shape.[^S01]\n\nThe loading sequence explains an important display distinction. The script creates two canvases and a short repeating CSS shake animation. A simple seal is shown while the batches calculate. Once computation finishes, the temporary canvas is removed and the detailed image is painted. Reloading edition 48 exposed the plain purple square before the full surrounding flow returned. Its completed composition remained stable across observations.[^S01][^S16]\n\nThere is no ongoing animation loop after completion, and the artist program contains no audio or pointer and keyboard controls. The shaking seal is a computational waiting state, not evidence that the final image continually evolves. A static archive image can faithfully show the completed work, while a link to the original preserves access to its loading presentation.       "bodyMarkdown": "The first indexed token was minted on August 16, 2021 at 13:57:54 UTC. Activation is recorded on August 19 at 20:30:57 UTC, and the official collection states an August 23 release. Those three dates identify different stages rather than competing answers to one question.[^S01][^S02]\n\nAll one thousand indexed mint records were inspected. One belongs to August 16 and the remaining 999 to August 23. Edition one is timestamped 19:00:54 UTC; edition 999 is timestamped 19:06:10. The interval between the first and last main-day records is five minutes and sixteen seconds. An inspected original opening announcement was not recovered, so that calculation is a mint-record span, not a verified duration measured from an advertised start.[^S01]\n\nThe first main-day transaction minted a single token for 2 ETH. The final transaction minted a single token for 1.8 ETH. Their network fees were additional. These transactions establish a price difference during the main mint, but do not establish a complete announced reduction schedule, resting price or the terms of the earlier allocation.[^S10][^S11] The current index reports one thousand invocations and a maximum of one thousand; it does not by itself recover the original cap-setting history.[^S01]\n\nThe project statement pledges twenty-five percent of proceeds toward preservation of the Bigai rainforest in Ecuador through Randers Rainforest Wildlife Foundation.[^S02] A September 9, 2021 Art Blocks report lists $1,440,000 for that foundation through Rapture. The report explicitly mixes artist statements, funds set aside and pledge calculations, and treats its totals as approximate.
