Heeey approaches code as a means of organizing visual thought. Art Blocks describes the artist's practice succinctly as exploring, collecting, and designing generative art, and places Bright alongside later projects including Transit and Monochronos.¹ Across these works, the image is not treated as a fixed composition. Instead, Heeey establishes relationships among units, boundaries, proportions, and chromatic fields, then allows a generative process to articulate their possible states.

This method links digital image-making to architectural thought. Each output functions as an autonomous arrangement, while the larger edition reveals the range and constraints of the system that produced it. A documentary record likewise identifies Heeey as both a generative artist and architect, locating the practice within a broader inquiry into code as a contemporary artistic material.²

Bright systems

Released in May 2023, Bright consists of exactly 360 editions.³ Its visual language is economical: bands and repeated geometric elements occupy dark or coloured grounds, producing images that can evoke diagrams, façades, woven structures, or luminous instruments. Marketplace trait records identify variables including background, girth, gradient, grid, hue, saturation, shape, stretch, and style.⁴ These categories show that variation is distributed across both form and colour, rather than being confined to a single compositional device.

The title directs attention toward luminosity, but brightness here is relational. Saturated colour gains intensity against darkness, narrow bands become sharper beside broad ones, and gradients soften otherwise rigid divisions. Across the edition, the algorithm tests how small parameter changes alter visual weight and rhythm. The grid is not merely a container. It behaves as a field in which repetition makes difference perceptible.

From screen to situated encounter

Heeey's wider activity clarifies why Bright can be read architecturally. In 2024, the artist joined a Responsive Dreams round table devoted to Barcelona's generative-art ecosystem.⁵ In 2025, The Generative Art Museum included Heeey in its mobile Bootleg Gallery during Art Blocks Weekend in Marfa. The presentation featured the unreleased work And When Rome Falls, described as a time capsule moving through moments of darkness and colour.⁶

These appearances place the practice within collective and situated encounters, rather than limiting it to isolated collectible outputs. A 2025 Art Blocks Weekend programme also situated the Bootleg Gallery among a dense network of exhibitions, screenings, and participatory events in Marfa.⁷ The documentary Emergence in Marfa, completed that year, presents Heeey among artists examining the boundary between digital and physical materiality.²

Institutional recognition continued with Heeey's selection for Barcelona Producció 2026. La Capella lists Totxana as a solo project for Espai Rampa, chosen through a competitive programme supporting new artistic production in Barcelona.⁸ This context reinforces the architectural and spatial implications already visible in Bright: division, proportion, surface, repetition, and the organization of visual experience.

Bright demonstrates how a restricted grammar can yield a visually expansive field.

Within Heeey's practice, the work is a compact statement about seriality. Its 360 editions do not illustrate 360 separate ideas. They expose the breadth of one deliberately bounded system, making colour and structure inseparable from the computational rules that organize them.
