HIDΞ0 is a Venezuela-born artist and computer scientist based in Santiago. He describes more than a decade of development experience, an early practice in drawing, painting, and sculpture, and a turn toward generative art in late 2020. His stated interest is the intersection of art and gaming, particularly the way interaction can make a computational work feel inhabited rather than merely displayed.1
Characters before lore
dino pals, released in May 2021 in 100 editions, begins with the recognizability of a character. Its small 3D dinosaurs vary in color, expression, species, and setting. The first token was auctioned for the UNICEF Innovation Fund, while the collection's limited scale gave each output the directness of a cast member rather than a sample from a vast trait matrix.2
The project's importance in HIDΞ0's sequence is methodological. It demonstrates that long-form generation can organize emotional cues as readily as abstract form. A face, posture, or accessory changes how a token is read. Code does not only distribute visual rarity; it distributes personality.

The artwork becomes playable
celestial cyclones, 628 editions released in July 2021, shifts from character to action. Each token is an interactive 3D field in which the viewer plays through barriers toward the center of a cyclone. Hideo connects the work to arcade play, sound, scoring, and the short feedback loops of classic games.3 Art Blocks records it as a live browser work rather than a static image set.4
This matters because interactivity is not an accessory to the composition. The token contains a visual state, a rule set, and a role for the viewer. Collection screenshots can document its appearance, but not the timing, resistance, or repetition through which the work is experienced.

Equipment for an implied universe
mecha suits, released in October 2021 in 256 editions, turns the generative object into equipment. The suits are presented as designed machines whose modular variation suggests different capabilities and operators. Art Blocks' record establishes the project's date, scale, and place in HIDΞ0's five-project platform sequence.5
A suit is never narratively neutral. It implies a body, an environment, and a reason for armor. In retrospect, the project acts as a bridge between the discrete character generation of dino pals and the explicit worldbuilding of Metaterra.

Metaterra as a generative world
Legends of Metaterra, 1,024 editions released in February 2022, makes the surrounding world explicit. Its pixel-art warriors draw on the visual grammar of role-playing games. Hideo has named Final Fantasy, Pokémon, and EarthBound as reference points for a planned game adaptation, locating the project within a history of characters whose meaning grows through exploration and encounter.6
The project also changes the relationship among outputs. A generated warrior can be read independently, but the title asks the collector to treat it as one legend among many. Repetition no longer demonstrates only algorithmic range. It begins to populate a setting.

The bestiary expands
undead wyverns, 100 editions released in August 2022, returns to the compact scale of dino pals but remains inside the Metaterra orbit. The generated creature is both a complete image and an addition to a bestiary. Art Blocks records the series as HIDΞ0's fifth AB[500] project.7
Read together, the five projects reveal a practice moving from isolated outputs toward connected systems. Characters lead to play; equipment implies operators; warriors establish lore; creatures extend the world. Later work such as quasar fighter develops the playable side of this practice beyond Art Blocks, while Isotopias extends its collector-facing systems.8

Why the five matter
HIDΞ0's AB[500] contribution offers a useful counterpoint to accounts of generative art centered only on abstraction. These works use procedural variation to build characters, games, and narrative potential. Their accessible surfaces are not a retreat from systems thinking. They show that a system can organize affection, agency, and lore as deliberately as it organizes color or geometry.
