r0zk0’s practice places the map between description and invention. Vellum LA identifies the artist as Chris Egli in its documentation of Immutable, a 2022 exhibition devoted to generative art.1 Code produces images that resemble diagrams, coastlines, weather systems, and speculative territories. These are not conventional maps. Their lines and fields organize information while withholding the promise of stable orientation.
This tension is central to Avalon, an Art Blocks Factory project released on August 26, 2022 as 208 unique artworks.2 Its title evokes an island that cannot be located with certainty, while its visual language borrows the authority of printed charts. The resulting works join imagined geography to systems of computational variation.
Conditional cartographies
The outputs of Avalon are built from recurring cartographic conventions: contour-like boundaries, colored regions, fine lines, and circular structures. Yet the series does not deliver a territory that can be mastered. Its forms suggest islands emerging, separating, or dissolving. The map becomes a stage on which certainty is continually deferred.
The project’s visual economy is not merely stylistic. Limited marks make small changes legible, allowing variation in boundary, density, color, and spatial balance to carry unusual weight. Across the six examples below, a consistent system produces distinct visual climates without abandoning its underlying grammar.

Space as a changing relation
The cartographic concerns of Avalon connect to r0zk0’s exhibition history. The artist participated in Meta.space: Visions of Space from the Middle Ages to the Digital Age at Francisco Carolinum Linz. Institutional press material records 75 works and objects and lists r0zk0 among the participating artists.3 The exhibition’s introduction treats space not as a purely geographic quantity but as something constructed through cultural, artistic, and social relations, particularly amid digitalization and virtualization.4 Within that context, r0zk0’s unstable territories can be read as models of space formed through systems rather than fixed depiction.
This logic continued in MOMENTA, published by Alba in 2023. Alba describes a generative collection in which every token load creates a new starting point and a real-time animation evolves continuously.5 The project foregrounds fleeting experience rather than a permanently settled image. UltraDAO identifies it as the second release in the Ultra Curated program.6 Although MOMENTA changes through repeated viewing while Avalon distributes variation across a finite collection, both works resist reducing computational art to a single static picture.
The map in r0zk0’s work is less a record of place than a device for observing change.
The artist’s group exhibitions further situate this approach within a community of computational practices. Immutable presented r0zk0 alongside Nadieh Bremer, Greweb, Kelly Milligan, Alexander Reben, and other generative artists. Vellum LA framed the exhibition around collaboration among artist, algorithm, and collector, as well as the relationship between constraint and freedom.1 The institutional program surrounding Meta.space likewise placed digital world-building within a longer history of artistic responses to real, social, and imaginary space.7
Seen across these contexts, Avalon is concise but conceptually layered. Its 208 editions convert cartographic memory and algorithmic variation into a family of possible worlds. Each output looks momentarily authoritative, yet the system beneath it insists that territory and representation remain conditional.
