Bart Simons began creating generative art in 2019 after completing studies in Interactive Media at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. 1 His work frequently addresses themes of movement and perception through carefully modulated color palettes and procedural systems. Exhibitions of his projects have taken place in Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Kyiv, and Venice Beach. 1

Artistic Practice and Background
Simons holds a degree in Interactive Media, which informs his approach to blending design principles with generative algorithms. 1 His pieces often feature organic, flowing elements that evoke natural phenomena such as currents and tides, rendered through iterative computational processes. Color serves as a primary vehicle for meaning, with subtle shifts altering emotional resonance and viewer interpretation. 1
This foundation in design and code allows Simons to treat the algorithm as both tool and collaborator, producing works that balance control and emergence. His output spans static prints, animations, and large-scale installations while remaining rooted in the logic of procedural generation.
Art Blocks Projects
In June 2021, Simons released Stroming on Art Blocks, a collection of 256 generative editions that visualize streaming and fluid dynamics through algorithmic line work, shape interactions, and shifting color fields. 2 Each piece is unique, generated from algorithms that produce varied compositions suggestive of movement and energy.
This was followed in December 2021 by Getijde, comprising 222 editions. 3 The title, meaning tide in Dutch, points to rhythmic, tidal patterns explored through similar generative techniques that emphasize ebb, flow, and layered color transitions. Both projects exemplify the artist's commitment to limited-edition on-chain generative art and demonstrate his signature approach to color as a structural and emotional element.

Exhibitions and Expanded Practice
Simons has presented work at notable events and venues including the 30 Seconds Museum in Tokyo (2021), Ukrainian Generative Art Expo in Kyiv (2021), NFT NYC (2022), and Bright Moments presentations in Venice Beach and Los Angeles (2022). 59
